Signs our puppy is getting better from distemper?

My husband and I adopted our puppy from the pound about 5 weeks ago and since the day we brought her home she has been sick with not only Pave but now she has distemper. Her feces has never been diarrhea it has been very solid, she hasn't lost her appetite at all, still drinking, has only thrown up twice in the past week but she has been whining more like she used to when she wanted our attention, and is a little more active. Her fever is continuing to go down. She is still kind of unstable but she seems to be a little more balanced. I guess I'm just not sure if these are signs that she is getting better or not. We are taking her back in for a follow up visit in a few days.
